Snowflake and DOD SkillBridge: A New Path for Military Talent

When it comes to job interviews, I've seen it all — from the painfully awkward to the truly outstanding. But every so often, a candidate walks in who completely redefines what exceptional looks like. Recently, that candidate was Tim.

From the moment he arrived, Tim was prepared. He was articulate, professional and confident. He didn't just rattle off theoretical answers; he backed up every response with a story, a real-life example of a challenge he'd overcome or a success he'd achieved. There was a depth to his experience that was rare and immediately impressive.

The explanation for his poise and professionalism is obvious. Tim is a member of the U.S. Navy.

A different kind of talent pipeline

Tim represents a caliber of talent we’re actively seeking at Snowflake, and he's not an anomaly. He came to us through the DOD SkillBridge program, an initiative that allows active-duty service members to complete an internship during their last 180 days of service. The goal is simple: provide a direct path to civilian employment and a seamless transition out of the military.

Snowflake is a proud authorized partner of this program. This year, we're slated to host a minimum of five (and up to 11) transitioning service members, offering them a training program for roles like solutions engineering, recruiting and HR coordination. Upon successfully completing the 16-week Snowflake training requirements and passing a certification exam, qualified candidates will be considered for full-time employment.

As a member of the public sector solutions engineering team, I couldn't be more proud to help these individuals launch their civilian careers. Our team already works to advance the missions of our government customers every day. Partnering with DOD SkillBridge is a natural extension of that commitment — a way to support those who have served while also benefiting from the incredible training, discipline and problem-solving skills they bring to the table.

Join us in supporting our heroes

We'll be sharing updates as our first DOD SkillBridge cohort progresses. Be sure to follow our social media channels to hear directly from them and the Snowflake employees involved in the program.

If you are an active service member approaching your last 6 months of service and are interested in this opportunity, or you know someone else who might be, please reach out to our team. All open positions are posted on the official DOD SkillBridge website. We can't wait to help this generation of heroes explore opportunities at Snowflake.
