Brennan DiChiara: One of our biggest data sources that we actually pull in data from comes from data that is centralized within Major League Baseball. At the teams, we don't really have control over where they store that data. So, we wanted a platform that would allow us to adapt no matter where they were storing it.

Brennan DiChiara: I'm Brennan DiChiara. I'm our Vice President of Business Strategy and Analytics for the Tampa Bay Rays. We work with all of our departments and the front office outside of the baseball field to ultimately improve the fan experience, drive revenue, improve stadium operations.

Brennan DiChiara: We use Snowflake for our data warehouse, and part of that process that my team owns is the ELT process—so extracting, loading, and transforming data so that it goes from its raw form into our warehouse, ultimately back into visualizations that we share with stakeholders. Coalesce plays a key role for us in the transformation of that data.

Brennan DiChiara: Our goal was to move our data warehouse from on-premises into the cloud with Snowflake. Our first big milestone was, "Let's replicate everything that we have on-premises in the cloud." There are a lot of data transformation processes that we had on-prem that required 1,500 lines of code to get the data from its raw form to what we needed it to be. Originally, our goal was to get everything rebuilt in the span of six months, and with Coalesce, we were able to get it done in six weeks.

Brennan DiChiara: Snowflake and Coalesce have done a ton for us in the way of increasing credibility with our department. A lot of teams within the organization rely on us for this data to be correct, and when it's incorrect, it can be difficult. It's really allowed the organization to have that single source of truth and, "Hey, this is the number we're going with, we feel confident in it."
