This Event Privacy Notice (“Notice“) explains who we are, how we collect, share and use personal information about you in connection with any events (such as a trade show, webinar, seminar, virtual event, or conference) we participate in or sponsor and any related websites, social networking features or mobile apps (collectively, the “Event Services“). This Notice supplements our general Privacy Notice available here. What personal information does Snowflake collect and why?
Personal information you provide
We may collect certain personal information you voluntarily provide to us, for example, when you register for the Event Services, allow us to scan your badge, fill out a survey, enter a contest, or provide us with your business card. The personal information we collect and the reasons why you are asked to provide it will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information. This may include the following types of personal information:

Some of the information you provide to us voluntarily when registering for the Event Services may be considered sensitive or a special category of personal information under applicable data protection laws. Where required by law, we will obtain your explicit consent before we use it.
Some events are co-sponsored or provided in connection with other companies not under the direct control of Snowflake. Whenever such services are provided, we will disclose the name of the sponsor or partner, available here, and will disclose the sponsor or partner privacy notices applicable to such processing. When signing up or registering for any such services or events where Snowflake is not the sole provider, you should be aware of any differing privacy practices by our partners and read all partner privacy notices and disclosures made available to you.
Personal information we collect automatically
We may also automatically collect certain information about you or your device, for example, when you interact with the event website(s), online forums, and communications, or download content, or participate in any event or sessions that are filmed or recorded. This may include the following types of personal information:

Personal information we collect from other sources
If you have registered for the Event Services through our event partners or co-sponsors, they may share certain information about you (such as your business contact information), which we use for the purposes described in this Notice. We may also collect information about you from publicly available sources, like LinkedIn and other social media sources.
We may also combine information we have collected about you by the methods described above or in other contexts (for example, data we have collected about you in connection with your use of any Snowflake products and services) for our marketing and promotional purposes – for example – to help us better determine what products, services and/or events might be of interest to you.
In general, we will only use the personal information we collect from you for the purposes described in this Notice. However, we may also use your personal information for other purposes that are not incompatible with the purposes we have disclosed to you (such as in the public interest) where this is permitted by applicable data protection laws.
Who does Snowflake share my personal information with?
We may share your personal information with:
- our trusted business partners, agents and service providers (including providers of accommodation, catering, IT, webinar and other support services) where applicable and where it is necessary for them to receive the information;
- our financial service providers to whom payment details are provided in order to process a payment;
- co-sponsors or event partners, including those who are involved in the delivery of the Event Services;
relevant professional bodies or institutions where membership or affiliation affects your entitlement to attend (or results in a discount on) the Event Services; and/or
- our affiliates so they can use it for the purposes described in this Notice.
In addition, if you choose to share certain content and other information (like your account profile information) through the Event Services (for example, if you use any social networking features, such as the Snowflake Summit Network, or create any public account profiles), you acknowledge that other attendees, sponsors, partners or users of the Event Services may gain access to such data.
How does Snowflake keep my personal information secure?
Snowflake takes all reasonable and appropriate steps to help protect your personal information in an effort to prevent loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
International data transfers
Snowflake and many of the Event Services are established and/or provided in the United States and other international locations. Therefore please be aware that your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident. We have however taken appropriate safeguards to require that your personal information will remain protected in accordance with this Notice. Data retention
We retain personal information we collect from you only for as long as we need to deliver the applicable Event Services or as long as we need to fulfill the purposes above or where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements). Your data protection rights

Legal basis for processing (applicable to EEA, UK or Switzerland residents)
If you are based in the European Economic Area (“EEA“) United Kingdom or Switzerland, Snowflake Computing, Inc., is the data controller of your personal information unless the data is collected in circumstances where one of our affiliates is running a local event. In such circumstances, we will endeavor to make this clear to you in a context-specific notification at the point we collect your personal information.
Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described above will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it. However, we will normally collect personal information only where we have your consent to do so, where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you, or where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you. Typically our legitimate interests include: (i) providing, improving and personalizing our Event Services and related content; (ii) managing our relationship with you; and (iii) conducting our marketing activities, as permitted under applicable law.
Updates to this Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time, including in response to changing legal, technical or business developments. When we update this Notice, we will take appropriate measures to inform you, consistent with the significance of the changes we make. We will obtain your consent to any material Notice changes if and where this is required by applicable data protection laws.
