Snowflake Launches In Indonesia in the AWS Asia Pacific (Jakarta) Region

Local operations will support Indonesian and multinational companies as they accelerate their migration to the Data Cloud

Jakarta, Indonesia, March 15, 2023Snowflake, the Data Cloud company, today announced the launch  of its service in Indonesia in public preview, bringing the Data Cloud to customers and partners in the country. Snowflake expects to  be generally available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Jakarta) Region in April 2023, enabling customers and partners to accelerate their migration to the Data Cloud, and harness the power of data.

Snowflake’s Data Cloud platform helps organizations break down data silos –  bringing  structured, semi structured, and unstructured data in one location,  allowing  users to gain critical business insights. The Snowflake’s Data Cloud platform helps organizations execute their most critical workloads through a multi-cluster shared data architecture, via a fully managed platform that capitalizes on the near-infinite resources of the cloud. On top of that, the platform allows near-limitless access so that organizations can develop and run data applications, models, and pipelines where data resides, all while unlocking cost-efficiency through a usage-based, per-second pricing model.

“In today’s highly competitive world businesses across all sectors are looking to harness the power of data and offer hyper personalized services to customers, accelerating revenue and  growth. Leading global companies have transformed to become data driven enterprises  by democratizing access to data and enabling data collaboration, and data monetisation.  As businesses in Indonesia embrace digital technologies, there is an urgent need to make data-driven decisions and unlock the value of data that will fuel growth and innovation in their companies,” said Sanjay Deshmukh, Senior Vice President ASEAN and India, Snowflake.

With data residency legislation in Indonesia, the need to unify data across the ecosystem is now a business critical need. Snowflake customers in Indonesia will be able to mobilize data at scale and maximize the value of their data to drive innovation, business agility, and performance. Snowflake’s ability to unify data across silos and enable a vibrant data ecosystem for data users will enable organizations to build a more responsive, resilient digital operation in Indonesia.

“AWS and Snowflake share a common obsession for customers, which underpins our long-standing collaboration that has spanned more than 20 Snowflake horizontal product integrations with AWS,” said Gunawan Susanto, Country Manager, Indonesia, AWS. “Today’s announcement of the future availability of Snowflake Data Cloud in the AWS  Asia Pacific (Jakarta) Region is another step in our continuing collaboration to deliver differentiated, best of breed solutions to our joint customers. We are confident that AWS infrastructure and ultra-low latency networks help us deliver highly reliable and available solutions to allow customers harness data for actionable decision making,” he added.

Deloitte, a global professional services organization and Snowflake partner welcomed the announcement. “Many enterprises are looking to modernize their operations to reap the benefits of cloud’s flexibility, scalability, and agility. Our alliance combines the advanced capabilities of Snowflake’s platform with Deloitte’s leadership in strategy, analytics, and technology services to help businesses in Indonesia accelerate their migration to the cloud, reduce costs and shorten innovation cycles, “ said, Chris Lewin, Artificial Intelligence and Data Offering Leader for Deloitte Consulting Southeast Asia.

Snowflake’s expansion into Indonesia will bring the power of the Data Cloud to more organizations across Southeast Asia, and the company will fill positions in sales, marketing and solution engineers.
