XLSmart is a communication services provider in Indonesia. We offer both mobile and fixed broadband products. We strive for excellence, operational efficiency, as well as innovation in the market.
We have roughly 26% market share, we have 57 million customers, mobile subscribers. In terms of fixed broadband, we have over 1 million customers on our network.
So basically, the data holds a central-point position in XL; we try to make all our decisions in a very, very data-driven way.
What we are doing with our data, we are analyzing our customer usage and customer behavior so that we can provide a more personalized approach. We also would like to optimize our network usage based on the traffic patterns to achieve the best marketing campaigns. And, we would like to ensure we have visibility to our business by providing a timely report and dashboard, so our business can know what is happening and can pick a decision based on that.
With the new platform, Snowflake has enabled us to modernize our data platform, increase scalability, improve our efficiency and usability across our organization.
Our users didn't even notice there is a migration because it's very seamless. And also, they are happy because their reports are now getting faster.
We now have a much faster turnaround time of the analysis. So, analyses that were taking 4 or 5 days, we are now doing it within hours.
Snowflake gives us double-digit cost reduction, along with the cost control feature that gives us visibility to what is happening inside Snowflake itself. Also, with the support of Snowflake governance policy, we know that the correct people are getting access to the correct data.
Snowflake, as a company, is very, very supportive to us. When we have an issue, we get support from Snowflake very, very fast.
After the migration that gave us a feeling of confidence. We expect in the future that we can create more value with Snowflake.
I don't think the transformation that we were able to execute and the kind of efficiency we have brought in would have been possible without strong partnership between Snowflake and AWS supporting each other. So I could see people working together — hard for me to distinguish who is AWS, who is Snowflake — working together to make sure that we make the best use out of the AWS Cloud and running the Snowflake product on top of it.
I think both from a product perspective, a partner’s perspective, professional services, competence perspective, the experience so far has been very good.
We are very satisfied, and the project has delivered on all its goals.
