                            WEDNESDAY 14 JUNE
Designing Applications For Scale

10:00 AM AEST | 12:00 PM NZST

Level 100 - Managed, Connected, Native - App Deployment Model 101
Session Descriptor

This session will give you direction on when you should build a managed app, a connected app or a native app. We will look at the foundational concepts and architecture when designing applications on Snowflake.

In the upcoming sessions app developers will understand the context behind emerging design patterns in data apps. Learn where Snowflake can play a part in your application strategy and practically demonstrate those with our lab walkthroughs.

10:30 AM AEST | 12:30 PM NZST

Level 200 - Zero to App - Creating the Snowflake Database for a Data Application
Session Descriptor

Data Applications powered by a Snowflake database can be built to support large scale analytical queries and data processing directly in Snowflake. This lab goes through how to prepare the data, set up the structure and prepare users and access permissions.

We also add a quick prototype of the application, build in Streamlit, that can directly connect to the data, and verify the content and the visualisations.

API Considerations For
Applications On Snowflake

11:30 AM AEST | 1:30 PM NZST

Level 100 - Let’s Get Connected! API's and Snowflake
Session Descriptor

When your API connects to Snowflake, what are the things you need to consider? How should you connect to Snowflake, what languages are supported, drivers? Does it matter? Security is a key topic as well so what are your options for connecting your API to Snowflake?

This session answers these questions and more.

12:00 PM AEST | 2:00 PM NZST

Level 200 - Zero to App - Connecting and Service Applications from an API's
Session Descriptor

By building well structured APIs and backends that connect to the data we can control both access and how the data is served to user facing applications, like a web or a mobile application.

This lab walks through setting up a basic API backend in Node.js that securely connects to the Snowflake database, and allows external users connect to the API to request data through the defined endpoint.

Supporting Your Frontend
Production App

1:00 PM AEST | 3:00 PM NZST

Level 200 - Seeing is Believing, Building Frontends

1:30 PM AEST | 3:30 PM NZST

Level 200 - Zero to App - Building Frontends and Visualisations in Snowflake
Session Descriptor

In the final lab we build a supporting frontend for your application that will connect to the API, using its authentication. You will learn how to serve the data in the form of interactive, responsive and informative visualisations.

Collaboration between companies is incredibly easy within Snowflake. Trusted partners can use Snowflake Secure Data Sharing for fast, easy, and secure collaboration. In this session we will discuss when to use either solution and how to set your company up for collaboration success

12:00 PM AEST | 2:00 PM NZST

Level 200 - End to End Data Clean Room Demonstration
