HOW TO ENTER

Here’s how to participate in the Snowflake Data Marketplace Challenge. See the official rules for more details.

  1. Register your interest: Fill out the form above.
  2. Pick the challenge question you want to answer: You can submit one entry for the Snowflake Data Marketplace Challenge. Select a question from one of the four categories: Financial Services, Healthcare, Media/Entertainment, Retail/CPG.
  3. Sign up for and leverage the required Snowflake free trial account: Sign up for and leverage the required Snowflake free trial account using the link provided in your registration confirmation.
  4. Leverage the required data set: To be eligible for judging, completed entries must answer the challenge question by using the required data set for the chosen category from Snowflake Data Marketplace. (See an example of using the Knoema Economy Data Atlas to enter the challenge).
  5. Submit your entry via the submission link in your registration confirmation: A completed entry must provide an answer, a one-paragraph justification for the answer (up to 500 words), a visualization, and your SQL code.

Matt Glickman

VP Customer Product Strategy, Financial Services, Snowflake

Matt is an industry leader in enterprise data platforms and currently serves as VP Data Marketplace, Customer Product Strategy, at Snowflake. For over 20 years, he led the development of business-critical analytics platforms at Goldman Sachs. As a Managing Director, he was responsible for the entire data platform of Goldman’s $1 trillion asset management business. Matt also co-led Goldman’s risk management platform and his team built Goldman’s first, company-wide data warehouse, which helped the company navigate the 2008 financial crisis. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and applied mathematics from Binghamton University.

Todd Crosslin

Global Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences, Snowflake

As a former Snowflake customer, Todd has firsthand knowledge of the benefits of Snowflake’s architecture for a healthcare environment.

As Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences Strategy at Snowflake, Todd has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, from performing provider roles in pharmacy and hospital environments to leading and serving software development teams.

Bill Stratton

Global Head of Media and Advertising Industry, Snowflake

Bill works with major media companies, AdTech companies, measurement and identity companies, and sports properties as well as major advertisers leveraging Snowflake to execute on all mission-critical data initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Bill was in charge of data strategy and operations with Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting, where he led a team monetizing first-party data and executing targeted cross-channel media campaigns. He created and ran the media and entertainment division at SAS Institute and was a successful entrepreneur with Digitalsmiths, which was later sold to Tivo.

Rosemary Hua

Head of Retail Strategy, Snowflake

Rosemary joined Snowflake after a five-year tenure at Walmart, where she led as a Director under the Chief Data Officer in the Global Data Organization. An important part of her role included driving top executive initiatives for Walmart's data strategy.

Prior to Walmart, Rosemary worked at Amazon in the transactions machine learning organization. Before that, she was one of the first employees at InfoScout, which ultimately merged with Market Track to become Numerator—a market intelligence firm that brings together omnichannel marketing, merchandising, and sales data.

In addition to fulfilling the criteria outlined above, make your submission stand out!

  • To be eligible for judging, completed entries must sign up for and leverage the required Snowflake free trial account and answer the question posed by using the required data set for the chosen category from Snowflake Data Marketplace.
  • A completed entry must provide an answer, a one-paragraph justification for the answer (up to 500 words), a visualization, and your SQL code.
  • Get creative with your responses and visualization.
  • Leverage multiple data sets.
