Data Sharing Rebate Program
DRIVE THE COST OF SNOWFLAKE TO ZERO
Snowflake rewards customers for sharing high-performing data apps and Agentic products. The more your data is used by external organizations, the more you benefit financially from the Snowflake Collaboration Rebate Program.
Starting May 1, 2025, Snowflake will calculate rebates based on a new, higher paying tiered rebate structure, all current participants will be automatically transitioned to the new version. The Collaboration Rebate Program is simple, seamless and helps to reduce the low cost of using Snowflake Data Cloud.
HOW DOES THE COLLABORATION REBATE PROGRAM WORK?
Snowflake credits are consumed when customers perform operations on data. With Snowflake Collaboration, customers can become ‘providers’ by sharing data, including native applications, with other Snowflake customers, who act as ’consumers’. Your rebate potential increases the more your consumers query and use the shared data. Through the Collaboration Rebate Program, providers can earn tiered rebates from 10% to 50% based on their consumers’ usage of shared data, and the rebate is capped based on providers’ spend. Here’s a breakdown of the tiers:

*Stable Edge means an Edge that has produced at least 20 jobs in which compute resources are consumed and such consumption results in recognized product revenue over two successive three-week periods (20 jobs in each period).
When you share data and native apps with consumers, Snowflake tracks their usage and attributes consumed credits to you, as the provider, based on the number of parties involved in each query. From there, you are automatically assigned a proportional rebate based on attributed consumption and the rebate tier for which you qualify. Your total rebate is based on the performance of your shared data across your organization.
Your rebate tier for each month is based on the number of Stable Edges generated by your Organization at the start of each month, which is determined based on the frequency of usage across all of your shared data by your consumers, ensuring that you are rewarded when your data is used more. The value of your rebate is a percentage of the Snowflake Credits consumed by your consumers and attributed to their Qualifying Jobs that leverage your shared data.1
FAQ
Q: I built a Native App on Snowflake, will I get a rebate on this consumption?
A: Yes, Native Apps qualify for the Collaboration Rebate Program. When your Native App is deployed and used by other Snowflake customers, the compute resources they consume while interacting with your app contribute to your rebate.
Q: Does this apply to any form of data sharing?
A: This rebate applies to any data sharing between accounts that belong to two different organizations, where the provider’s data is accessed by a consumer and compute resources are consumed. It doesn't apply to sharing via Snowflake reader accounts, internal sharing within the same organization, or Native App queries executed via Snowpark Container Services that do not otherwise access a provider’s data.
Q: Can my account have a positive balance if the rebates exceed my Snowflake consumption?
A: No, rebates are always capped2 at the level of consumption of a given Snowflake ORG, per month.
Q: How will I know if I’m getting any credits as part of this rebate?
A: Your billing usage statement will reflect the rebate amount provided to you for the month on the Collaboration Rebate line item. To view the rebate amount, simply query the usage_in_currency_daily view within organization usage schema, where service type equals Collaboration Rebate.
Q: How does the Collaboration Rebate differ from the previous version of the Rebate Program?
A: Collaboration Rebate has evolved to better reward customers for sharing high performing data. Previously, the program offered a flat 10% rebate, based on credits consumers used when performing operations. Now, with Collaboration Rebates we’ve implemented a tiered rebate system, to provide better support for our high-value data providers. This change aligns the rebate program with consumption patterns and provides a greater incentive to customers sharing impactful data.
