Snowflake Computing to Sponsor and Exhibit at AWS re:Invent 2014

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Nov. 5, 2014
Snowflake Computing, the cloud data warehousing company, today announced it will sponsor and exhibit at the sold-out AWS re:Invent 2014, the largest gathering of developers, users and technical leaders from the Amazon Web Services community. The conference will be held Nov. 11-14 at The Venetian and The Palazzo hotels in Las Vegas.

Snowflake Computing will be located at booth #203, and for the first time will showcase and provide live demonstrations of the Snowflake Elastic Data Warehouse™, a completely new SQL data warehouse built from the ground up as a cloud service. Snowflake’s patent-pending architecture makes it uniquely able to take advantage of the elasticity, scalability and flexibility of the cloud, bringing together all users, all data and all workloads in a single service.

Last month, the company emerged from stealth and announced that it has received $26 million in funding from leading venture capital firms. Snowflake delivers the power of data warehousing, the flexibility of big data platforms and the elasticity of the cloud—at a 90 percent lower cost than on-premises data warehouses. Snowflake was founded to reinvent the data warehouse by a team of data experts from companies including Actian, Cloudera, Google, Microsoft, Oracle and Teradata, who hold over 120 patents in databases and data processing.
