With over 20 years of banking experience, Steve’s career to date has included senior and executive leadership positions with accountabilities across Retail, Corporate, Commercial and Rural Banking and Legal. He’s passionate about business and business leaders delivering on Purpose and Performance and having some fun doing it.

Sunny Bedi serves as the Chief Information & Data Officer at Snowflake. Prior to joining Snowflake, Sunny held Corporate IT and Operations leadership roles at Nvidia from 2008-2020 as they scaled from less than 2,000 employees to 15,000. Previously, Sunny has held leadership roles at VMWARE, JDSU, Deloitte Consulting and Andersen Consulting. He holds a BS and MBA from University of San Francisco, and Executive Education in Leadership and Technology from Stanford University.

She is an experienced Data & Analytics leader, harnessing a product mindset to champion the role of data in the banking industry. Gurbani has a proven track record of executing complex projects, from initial strategy, right through to end delivery. She has operated in highly matrixed organisations, with a consultative bias towards action and implementation. Gurbani has demonstrated results in stakeholder management, process interpretation, program and project management, agile delivery, data, analytics, insights and influencing people, along with an ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
A servant leader at her core, Gurbani believes in empowering her team to become new-age superstars in the data and analytics field, within what is a centuries old profession.
Prior to joining Kiwibank, Gurbani worked in the financial services industry with Tower and IAG.

Theo Gordon is a principal engineer with wide-ranging, long-term experience in the banking industry. He joined Kiwibank to provide CI/CD strategy and building blocks. He then pivoted to help with the new cloud data platform, taking proof of concept work and building a coherent architecture and platform ops based delivery strategy.
Through his career, Theo has enjoyed jumping into different engineering problems in a range of technical areas: he introduced CI/CD and agile practices to a mission critical payments monolith, built a performance testing framework for an order of magnitude load increase during a merger, helped rollout a microservices platform, lead a mobile team to double its release cadence, and established foundational work and practices for a new cloud landing zone.
Theo is a self taught engineer – he studied Film Theory at The University of Waikato – and loves how energizing the creative side of life is: he writes screenplays, designs boardgames and trains as a circus aerialist.

Dan Hennebry, a Telecommunications Operations expert, Azure, and Snowflake Administrator is the Data Operations Lead at Spark New Zealand Limited.
Prior to becoming the Data Operations Lead in 2021, Dan was the Domain Chapter Lead for Data Analytics and Visualisation at Spark for 3 years.
A ‘lifer’ at Telecom/Spark since 2001, Dan has held various other roles from Web and Database Development, Solution Architecture, Project Management and managing the network Service & Performance team, always maintaining a passion for operational efficiency, giving people the data, they need to make good decisions – fast.
Dan has a BSc in Computer Science and Chemistry, and a Diploma of Teaching from Waikato University.

David is the Chief Data Officer at Transpower, the National Grid owner and System Operator, whose core purpose is to empower the energy future for New Zealand.
At Transpower, David and his team are tasked with transforming Data & Analytics, moving from a world of using data as a tool to treating it as an asset. This has involved a journey with the business of introducing a completely new Operating Model, standing up and moving to a cloud based data platform, and selling the vision of what the future D&A world could look like.
David has over 30 years experience in technology, he was previously CIO at NZX responsible for the Financial and Electricity Markets of New Zealand, he’s delivered “24×7” operations for a FTSE 100 Property company, and worked in a major UK newspaper, in telecommunications, IT Consulting and software houses.
David holds an MSc with Distinction in Software Systems and a BA in Economics and Politics.
