We work to minimize our own environmental footprint, but for Snowflake, that’s not enough. Snowflake’s core architecture processes data more efficiently than legacy solutions, which helps reduce the carbon impact.

Sustainability Statement and Sustainable Business Operations

We are focused on minimizing our environmental footprint by keeping sustainability in mind in our operations.

We target office locations accessible by public transportation to promote sustainable commute options. Many of our offices are LEED certified, have recycling and composting programs, energy efficient appliances, or water saving fixtures.

In offices where it is possible, we have food waste reduction programs such as donating edible food to local organizations in need. We opt for plastic-free options for the food and beverage options in our offices. Finally, we are reducing business travel by scheduling more virtual meetings and events.


Diversity and Inclusion

We foster a culture of inclusion across a workforce that is diverse in many ways, including race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, ability, identity, and experience.

Combined with our performance-based culture of individual accountability, we encourage all of our employees to support the needs and differences of our diverse population. We create monthly opportunities to celebrate and recognize our diversity while learning the impact of how diversity impacts our business. We believe this will fuel innovation, encourage authenticity, and serve our customers as we enable every organization to become data-driven.

Our goal is always to bring people together rather than apart and encourage grassroots initiatives. We also care about the community outside Snowflake, and are building relationships with nonprofits and educational institutions that invest in building career skills and opportunities for under-represented groups that one day may become part of our Snowflake team.
