SafeGraph: US Census Data & Neighborhood Insights

Neighborhood insights for every Census Block Group.

Dataset Description:

SafeGraph’s Open Census Data contains 7500+ demographic attributes (like income, age, education, etc.) available at the Census Block Group level. All data from the American Community Survey is available in bulk with a clean schema and joined with Census Block Group (CBG) geometry. This dataset is also available for download in all regions.

SafeGraph’s open census dataset includes the following components:
-All demographic data from the American Community Survey (2016) 5-year estimate on the census block group level.
-All census block group boundaries formatted as a GeoJSON file.
-Metadata mapping attribute names to a table ID, census block groups to cities and counties, and census block groups to geographic statistics such as percentage land and water.
-SafeGraph neighborhood insights for each census block group

-Block groups
-Table IDs
-Multiple levels of field data, varying by schema

Additional Information:
All SafeGraph POI-based datasets utilize Placekey (https://www.placekey.io/) as the primary key and are formatted as delimited CSVs. SafeGraph updates the Places dataset every month with the past month’s openings and closings and maintains a persistent Placekey across releases. Our detailed Core Places Schema(1) is available online. Additionally please refer to Places Data Manual(2) for more detailed field definitions and methodologies. Our Places Summary Statistics(3) is updated with every monthly release to reflect data coverage.
