Data Mesh - Enable Distributed Domains and Data Products with Snowflake
Session Descriptor

Data Mesh is arguably one of the most talked about IT architecture and transformation concepts in the industry in recent years. Companies in all verticals are choosing Data Mesh for decentralized data management to improve data agility and avoid the organizational bottlenecks often connected with centralized and monolithic approaches. This session describes how the Snowflake cloud data platform is uniquely suited for Data Mesh implementations. We’ll discuss common Data Mesh requirements and how they can be effectively addressed with Snowflake capabilities for data engineering, data lakes, data warehouses, data governance, data sharing, and Snowgrid. This session includes Data Mesh architecture blueprints and best practices to enable you to build the best Data Mesh for your needs.

Unistore brings transactional use cases to the Data Cloud
Session Descriptor

Unistore is a new workload that delivers a modern approach to working with transactional and analytical data together in a single platform. Teams can now build transactional business applications directly on Snowflake, run real-time analytical queries on their transactional data, and get a consistent approach to governance and security. All without moving data or managing multiple systems.

Maintaining high standards of compliance and governance can be challenging – especially for your most sensitive data. But allowing all users across your business to access and tap into new value from that data can be game-changing for an organization. In this session, you’ll learn best practices for protecting your data and implementing governance at a global scale. You’ll get an overview on the flexible controls available –including dynamic data masking, row-access policies, conditional masking. You’ll get examples of when to use them depending on the data, user, and use case – as well as an overview for object tagging, data lineage, and impact analysis capabilities to track the flow of sensitive data.

Introduction to Data Clean Rooms
Session Descriptor

Snowflake Data Clean Rooms allow you to join your data with another party’s data, and analyze the two data sets together – but without each party being able to see or export the other’s raw data. For example, two companies can securely join their customer data together, understand how many customers they have in common, and then get insights to service their joint customers better without ever knowing exactly which customers matched. This intermediate-level technical session assumes knowledge of SQL, and covers:

– How data clean rooms work in Snowflake
– How data clean rooms protect each party’s data
– How to securely join your data to another party’s data on shared identifiers in a Clean Room
– Example customer-use cases in Media, Advertising and other industries

What is a Modern Data Architecture?
Session Descriptor

You can’t use yesterday’s technology to solve today’s data problems – and definitely not tomorrow’s. In this session, Jeremiah Hansen, Principal Data Platform Architect, will describe the challenges of traditional file-based data lakes, the opportunity of the Data Cloud. and how Snowflake’s platform is uniquely capable of supporting a data mesh without creating problems of data silos.

Field CTO

Expand Your Horizon: Data Cloud For Cross-Industry Collaboration
Session Descriptor

We don’t even think about it. You pull into a gas station and insert your credit card. That was a major cross-industry innovation. Essentially, putting an ATM machine onto a gas pump enabled the pay-at-the-pump, self-service gas station. Cross-industry collaboration historically has led to transformational breakthroughs we all recognize and from which we’ve benefitted. For example: The fusion of glass, cable, and electronics into fiber optics have accelerated access to high-speed internet. Now, cross-industry data collaboration is becoming increasingly common. Car manufacturers share telematics data with insurance companies to optimize and personalize premium pricing. Retailers share data with CPGs to improve product development and demand forecasting. Telecom operators work with financial services organizations to improve credit scoring and deliver mobile banking services. Come hear how Snowflake enables cross-industry collaboration that delivers innovation.
