KIXEYE Powers Data-driven Game Development Cost-effectively with Snowflake
Snowflake’s unique architecture enables all of our teams to work with data in one system, without impacting performance and without DBA experience.

KIXEYE: Democratizing their Data Warehouse with Snowflake
Hear how KIXEYE, an online gaming company, makes the switch from legacy solutions to Snowflake, allowing them to focus less on maintaining infrastructure and more on delivering business value.
KIXEYE develops high-quality online games, many of which begin as free-to-play. KIXEYE must engage players beyond the freemium game phase and generate revenue from virtual goods and other sources.
KIXEYE’s data processing pipeline captures event data from games, processes that data, and makes it available via SQL and business intelligence (BI) tools for data exploration, reporting, and predictive analytics. KIXEYE needed a solution that was scalable, extensible, timely, accurate, cost-effective, and user-friendly.
KIXEYE chose to deploy Snowflake. With their new architecture, KIXEYE outputs semi-structured JSON event data directly from Kafka to Amazon’s S3 storage service, from where they load directly into Snowflake for processing and analysis.
Data is available for analysis at an order of magnitude faster than before, and KIXEYE pays only for the storage and compute resources it uses. The ability to increase independent compute resources on the fly for any workload, KIXEYE’s marketing, finance, and gaming teams operate independent jobs for transforming, slicing, aggregating, and analyzing data without competition for resources.
Snowflake’s data warehouse built for the cloud supports future expansion without needing to pay for that capacity up front. As a result, KIXEYE’s new architecture is well positioned to serve both its current and future needs.
