Sameet has over 20 years of database technology expertise and over 15 years of management and leadership experience. At Microsoft, he was General Manager of the SQL Server Relational Database Engine – one of the world’s leading relational databases. He also led the data infrastructure team at Facebook, which built and operates one of the largest Hadoop deployments on the planet. He was part of the team which incubated several big data technologies including Hive, Presto and Scuba. Sameet holds a bachelor’s degree from IIT Bombay and an M.S. in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
